External RLS: the service

The presence of a Workers’ Safety Representative at work is an obligation for the employer and a right for workers.
All enterprises with at least one non-probationary employee must have an RLS, elected by the workers from among the workers.
In case the workers do not want to elect an internal RLS, it is possible to proceed with the appointment of the Territorial RLS (RLST).
EBAFoS (Bilateral Company Training and Safety Board) has activated the RLST (Workers’ Representative for Safety at Work Territory) service.
The RLST service offered by EBAFoS makes it possible to have available, in a short time, professionals specialized in prevention, protection, occupational health and safety who can fulfill the obligations prescribed by law. By benefiting from this service, the company benefits from a trained, competent, serious and efficient resource. In fact, all RLSTs are carefully selected and trained by the Bilateral Board.

What are the benefits for companies?

• The employer does not have to bear the cost of the RLS training course required for one of its employees to hold that position;
• The employee is not absent from the workplace to take the initial course (32 hours) and the various updates (4 or 8 hours);
• EBAFoS RLSTs are available immediately: thus avoiding the waiting time required for course activation and employee training;
• The employer does not have to bear the burden of producing the forms as they are provided by EBAFoS;
• The RLST provides advice on occupational safety within the scope of his or her assignment and can interface with the relevant authorities when necessary;
• It is possible to use the RLST service at no additional cost by taking advantage of the mandatory contributions that companies pay.
